Aley and Michael asked me to come along with them to Nashville from Chicago to photograph their engagement session. Of course, I love to travel, so it was a hit from the beginning. Earlier last year I traveled to Cheekwood Estate and Gardens when I attended some continuing education while I was in Nashville. As I meandered around the property, I couldn’t help but think of how perfect of a location it was for an engagement session or wedding. Little did I know just a few short months later I’d meet Aley and Michael as we talked about photographing their wedding in Chicago later this year. When it came time to plan their engagement session, they mentioned Nashville and I knew I had the perfect location. I spoke with the event staff at Cheekwood and we were well on our way to make this gorgeous engagement session happen. We flew into Nashville in December and thankfully the weather was still warm enough for Michael and Aley to be comfortable.

We started out at the house just beyond the gate. The stone in the building and wrought iron fence provided gorgeous backdrops. Next, we moved up to the mansion itself. We explored the grounds and even photographed next to the reflection pool flanked by gorgeous statues.

Aley did a fantastic job with styling and she and Michael were as thrilled with the results as I was. I can’t wait for their wedding ceremony this August at St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Cathedral and their wedding reception at The Cotillion. As you can tell from the images below, their wedding pictures will be just as stunning!
