The way he softly smiled and looked at Amy during their engagement session is why I do what I do. We talked about the lives that Chris and Amy are building for themselves. The evening we chose was perfection. I was a little worried that spring hadn’t quite sprung yet but it was perfect. The sun poured down on them to create a gorgeous glow. We started off at my favorite engagement session location then moved further back as the sun set. This gives me the best sunset glow over my favorite field. I always encourage our couples to have two outfits. One that’s a little more casual and the other a little more formal. For Amy’s dress, she chose a gorgeously long, flowy dress. And I’m so glad she did. Flowy dresses give great movement and texture in portraits and this dress was no exception. She also paired her dress with an amazing outfit for Chris. He wore a fitted button shirt which is on-trend right now with men’s attire. Their outfits paired perfectly together creating a cohesive and elegant look.
We also talked the plans they have for their wedding this fall at the Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center. I’m excited to see how beautiful their wedding design will be. You know it’s going to be amazing when Casey and Matt of Bright Designs by the Kanes are the wedding planners! Casey’s designs are filled with florals and textures so Amy and Chris’ wedding will be a dream to photograph. I can’t wait to see it so stay tuned.
Below are just a few of my favorite portraits from Amy and Chris’ engagement session. So sit down with your favorite latte and enjoy! Amy’s hair was styled by Salon Halo and her makeup was done by Hair by Gabrielle.
