The early morning summer breeze gently grazed through her hair as she swept it behind her ear. Sam leaned in to nuzzle her temple while Morgan softly smiled. They gazed at each other while the morning light kissed the edges of their bodies. We walked through downtown Chicago during their anniversary session. We stopped at the Riverwalk along the Chicago River for our first photography location then we walked over to The Wrigley Building for our second. One of the best parts of sunrise sessions is the lack of crowds. We were only met by a few others jogging with their dogs so we had plenty of room for Sam and Morgan to move around. The morning light is always so clean and fresh – perfect for anniversary sessions in Chicago!

I met Morgan earlier this year as we collaborated on an editorial at the Chicago History Museum. Morgan is the owner and floral designer at Blooms by Morgan. She is crazy talented and I’m thrilled that I had the opportunity to work with her. She and Sam have been married for a few years and Sam recently accepted a position in the San Francisco Bay area so they wanted a session to celebrate their anniversary in their favorite city, Chicago, before they moved. I am so grateful I was able to provide nostalgic images in their favorite city!
